Safety on Arch

How Arch keeps people safe, and what you can do. If something on Arch has made you uneasy, you’re not overreacting by acting on it.

If you’re in danger, call 911

Contact emergency services first. Then block and report the person in Arch. Reporting through Arch is not an emergency service.

01

Block

Blocking is silent and complete. The person leaves your matches for good, your conversation ends, they can’t see your profile, and they’re never told.

From their side, being blocked looks exactly like you leaving the conversation or deleting your account.

02

Report

Report anyone from your conversation with them. A person at Arch reads every report, usually within a day, with the conversation attached. You don’t have to block someone to report them, and they’re never told who reported them, or that anyone did.

Report someone who

  • is abusive or harassing,
  • has photos that aren’t them,
  • seems to be under 18,
  • is trying to sell you something,
  • or does anything else that isn’t right. There’s a “Something else” option for that.
03

Real accounts

Every account is tied to a phone, and you sign in with Apple. Someone who is removed can’t simply sign up again, which makes throwaway accounts hard to make.

It doesn’t prove anyone is who they say they are, so trust what people do over what they say.

04

Meeting for the first time

  • Meet somewhere public, like a café or a restaurant. The Date planner only suggests public places.
  • Tell a friend where you’re going, who you’re meeting, and when you’ll be back.
  • Get yourself there and home. Don’t rely on the other person for a ride.
  • Keep your phone charged, and keep your drink with you.
  • Keep talking in Arch until you’re ready to share your number or your socials.
  • Trust your gut. It’s always okay to leave.
05

Money

Arch will never ask you for money in a message, and neither should anyone you meet on it.

Someone who asks for money, gift cards or crypto, or who pushes an investment, however good the story, is a reason to stop talking and report them.

06

Something else

Write to support@archdating.com. A person reads every message. If it’s about someone on Arch, reporting them from your conversation is faster, because it arrives with the context.
